Training takes a
technology leap
With the implementation of our online Learning Management
System (LMS) we have significantly increased the efficiencies of
training and assessing including reducing our paper use by 90%.
One of the real successes of the transition to the LMS was the
program to transfer all of the Barminco required training onto
our new eLearning platform.
This web-based interactive style of learning has improved
the trainee interface with the programs and improved the
learning experience.
On the back of this success, we have now been able to utilise
mobile tablet hardware and have rolled out iPads to all sites
loaded with Assessor App.
This mobile application allows our trainer assessors to conduct
real time assessments at the point of work with the ability to
capture photos or video of the assessment process.

Vacation Work Program! Did you know, Barminco offers
students in any year of study of an engineering degree access to
the Barminco Vacation Work Program?
This program provides meaningful work experience, with
trainees participating in a variety of assistant and trainee
underground roles.
Applicants are recruited to participate in the summer program
and are often invited to return for the winter vacation period.
Barminco encourages our vacation work students to participate
in further vacation work over the course of their degree, with
the aim of enlisting them into our Graduate Program upon
completion of their degree.
